BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 17. Iran has transitioned from research and development in the nuclear sector to full-scale industry and implementation, said Mohammad Eslami, Vice-President and Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Trend reports.
Speaking at the launch of the country's first dried fruit production facility using plasma technology in Kerman province, Eslami highlighted the AEOI's efforts to leverage nuclear technology to address national challenges, with tangible benefits expected for Iranian citizens.
Eslami emphasized the organization's focus on agriculture and food quality enhancement, noting that plasma technology holds significant potential across multiple sectors, including medicine, agriculture, food processing, industry, water management, and environmental protection.
He pointed out that pistachios, a key crop in Kerman province, have been the focus of extensive studies over the past two years to resolve existing production issues. The newly launched plant aims to address these challenges and boost the quality of pistachio processing.
To note, Iran uses its nuclear program in agriculture, health, electricity, and other fields, and to this end, it has taken steps to discover uranium, mine uranium stone, produce yellowcake, and so on.
