BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 24. The production of granular limestone at Iran's Pir Bakran Limestone Complex in Isfahan Province, located in central Iran, has increased by 10 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024), compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), Trend reports via Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
A total of 492,000 tons of granular limestone was produced at the complex in the first eight months of this year, up from 447,000 tons during the same period in the previous year.
Additionally, the extraction of limestone minerals at the complex increased by 11 percent, with 492,000 tons mined in the first eight months of this year, compared to 443,000 tons last year.
The complex produced 65,000 tons of granular limestone in the eighth month (from October 22 through November 20, 2023), marking a 21 percent increase over the previous year's figure of 54,000 tons. The extraction of limestone minerals during this period also saw a 21 percent rise, reaching 65,200 tons, compared to 54,000 tons in the same month last year.
To note, Iran's Pir Bakran Limestone Complex holds an estimated 70 million tons of reserves, with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons of limestone mineral.
