Georgia's imports from China from January through November 2021 totaled $790.3 million – an increase of 22.2 percent, compared to $646.6 million over the reporting period of 2020, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).
According to Geostat, China ranks third among Georgia’s trading partners by imports, with an 8.8 percent share in total Georgia’s imports.
TOP-5 commodities exported from China to Georgia (Jan. through Nov. 2021):
Equipment for processing land, minerals, or ores – $42.5 million (15-times increase year-on-year);
Flat-rolled products made of non-alloy steel – $40.9 million (69.7-percent increase year-on-year);
Vaccines, blood and immune products – $33.9 million (2,500-times increase year-on-year);
Rubber pneumatic tires – $25.7 million (30.4 -percent increase year-on-year);
Automatic data processing machines and their devices – $24.8 million (36.2 -percent increase year-on-year).
Georgia’s trade turnover with China from January through November 2021 amounted to $1.3 billion, compared to $1.09 billion over the same period of 2020 – an increase of 19.2 percent year-on-year.
