Several people were injured and arrested during clashes on Sunday between Serbian veterans and the police, Belgrade media reported, dpa reported.
More than 1,000 veterans demanded pay for fighting in the Kosovo war of 1999 and planned to blockade the Merdare border crossing into the breakaway province that declared independence earlier this year.
Hundreds of Serbian police barred the way, leading to clashes.
The protests were continued into the afternoon.
