Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 15 / Trend S. Agayeva /

The International Foundation "Dede Gorgud" and the magazine "Azerbaycan dunyası" will award senior lieutenant Farid Akhmadov's mother Nargiz Ahmadova with the order "Mehriban Ana".

The decision was taken by the Council of Elders of the Dede Gorgud Foundation, Eldar Ismailov, the president of the foundation, editor-in-chief of the magazine, told Trend.

Farid's mother is awarded with the medal for her efforts while bringing Farid up as a hero and patriot of his homeland.

Senior lieutenant Farid Ahmadov was awarded with the medal for "Courage" upon Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decree.

Farid Ahmadov was born in Jalilabad region on Feb. 13, 1986. In 2003, after graduating from the Nizami secondary school No 1 in Jalilabad region, he entered the Heydar Aliyev Higher Military School. He graduated from it successfully in 2007. He passed a one-year course of specialization in the educational center of the Armed Forces and served in the military section in the front area on the post of commander of the reconnaissance platoon. Later, he became lieutenant.

Farid Ahmadov died in Terter region on Sept. 3, 2010.

Armenia transferred dead bodies of the Azerbaijani military men Mubariz Ibrahimov and Farid Ahmadov to the Azerbaijani side on Nov. 6, 2010 upon the joint statement made by the presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Ismailov said that the award will be presented to the hero's mother in Jalilabad region on Thursday where Ahmadov was born.

Previously, the foundation and the magazine awarded Mubariz Ibrahimov's mother with the same medal.

While visiting Mubariz Ibrahimov's family in Bilasuvar region, president of the foundation Eldar Ismailov presented the Order "Veten Ovladı" to Mubariz's father Agakerim Ibrahimov. The National Hero was awarded for valor and bravery.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
