Agreement on Cooperation Signed between Border Services of Azerbaijan and Latvia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 February / corr. Trend K. Zarbaliyeva/ The State Border Service of Azerbaijan and State Border Guard Service of Latvia reached an agreement on cooperation on 27 February. The document was signed by Elchin Guliyev, the head of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan and Gunars Dabolins, the head of the State Border Guard Service of Latvia.

The agreement envisages the cooperation in strengthening security and defense of the state borders, the training of the border service employees and exchange of experience as well.

During the visit if the Latvian frontier guards that began on 25 February discussions were held on security of the land and sea borders, the exchange of experience in training of border service employees, the projects on border security carried out by the structures of the European Union and international organizations.

The guests got familiar with the activities of the coastal border guard, the education center, the service ships and their technical opportunities, and the border control in the airport named after Heydar Aliyev in Cargo terminal. The heads of the two border services answered the questions of the journalists after the signing of the agreement.
