ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 28. Kazakhstan intends to repair 11,000 kilometers and build more than 5,000 kilometers of new railways by 2030, Trend reports.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made this announcement during a business meeting with Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation.

According to President Tokayev, an important priority for Kazakhstan is the creation of a network of modern multimodal hubs and "dry ports" abroad.

"One of the successful examples of this priority for Kazakhstan is the construction of a new transport and logistics center at the Selyatino station in the Russian Federation. The newly built Kazakhstan terminal in the Chinese city of Xi'an will carry out cargo collection at the opposite end of the transit corridor. Thus, key reference points of a unified cargo transit system along the route China–Kazakhstan–Russia are effectively being created," Tokayev emphasized.

To note, during the official visit of President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, a number of important agreements and memorandums were signed. Among these agreements was the construction of the CRK Terminal transport and logistics center at the Selyatino railway station in Russia.
