ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 15. In 2024, the Shymkent Oil Refinery processed 5.74 million tons of oil, Trend reports via KazMunayGas.
During a working trip to the Shymkent Oil Refinery (PetroKazakhstan Oil Products), the Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas, Aset Magauov, summarized the plant's performance for 2024 and discussed plans for the current year.
It was noted that the refinery has been tasked with ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of production plans while adhering to the company’s principles of social responsibility.
In 2024, PetroKazakhstan Oil Products (Shymkent Oil Refinery) achieved a light oil product yield of 78.8 percent and a processing depth of 85.8 percent. The indicator for technological fuel and losses decreased to 7.9 percent, which is 0.6 percent lower than the level of 2023.
During the visit, Aset Magauov was also presented with the following production results for oil products in 2024: automotive gasoline – 2.09 million tons, which is 39,000 tons more than in 2023; diesel fuel – 1.78 million tons, 23,000 tons more than in 2023; aviation fuel – 319,000 tons, 4,000 tons more than in 2023; liquefied petroleum gas – 335,000 tons, 11,000 tons more than in 2023.
These figures indicate a continuous improvement in the operational efficiency of the refinery and its compliance with high product quality standards.
The Shymkent Oil Refinery (PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP) is one of Kazakhstan's three leading oil refineries. PetroKazakhstan is an oil group of companies, whose shareholders include the "China National Petroleum Corporation" and JSC "National Company KazMunayGas." The group’s production structure consists of two divisions: JSC "PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources" (PKKR), located in the Kyzylorda region and engaged in oil production, and LLP "PetroKazakhstan Oil Products" (PKOP), located in Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region, in the city of Shymkent, and responsible for oil refining.
