ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 16. An oil extraction plant with a capacity of 33,000 tons per year is planned to be built in the village of Kalkaman, Pavlodar region, Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the Akimat of Pavlodar region.

During a visit to Kalkaman, Akim (Governor) of Pavlodar region, Asain Baykhanov, was introduced to a new investment project for the construction of the oil extraction plant, with the implementation period set for 2025-2026.

The cost of the project will be 2.9 billion tenge ($5.5 million). The capacity of the export-oriented oil plant will be 33,000 tons per year. The facility is planned to be constructed on the territory of an existing elevator on an area of 9,881 hectares. The regional leader, Asain Baykhanov, supported the project and instructed the "Ertis Agro" to assist the investor in the successful implementation of the project.

To note, Kalkaman was once a major settlement and remains a promising village, both in terms of geography and logistical potential.
