BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. Last year, the air transportation volume in Azerbaijan took off and experienced growth.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistical Committee shows that 4.14 million passengers were transported by air, up 37.9 percent year on year.
Public transportation constituted a staggering 99.9 percent of
the overall transportation landscape, while private vehicles made
up a mere 0.1 percent.
In the interim, air cargo transport surged by 15 percent, reaching
a total of 411,000 tons.
To note, in 2023, passenger traffic by air in Azerbaijan reached 5.8 million (33 percent year-on-year rise), and air cargo transportation amounted to 338,800 tons (down 16.7 percent from 2022).
