ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 24. The number of electric vehicles in Kazakhstan has increased by 1.6 times, Trend reports via the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan.
Statistical data from Kazakhstan reveals that the number of vehicles running on electricity has increased by 1.6 times. By December 1, 2024, they had reached a total of 12,587 units, a significant jump from the 7,680 units recorded the previous year. This covers all types of vehicles, including those for passengers, commercial use, and buses alike. The rise is especially striking in the realm of passenger cars: their count jumped from 7,383 to 12,119 units.
Almaty remains the leader in the number of electric vehicles, with 7,309 such cars registered. It is followed by Astana with 1,510 electric vehicles and Almaty region, where 638 vehicles run on electricity.
To note, currently, the number of electric trucks is 338, and the number of buses is 130.
