BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14.​ Azerbaijan's Ministry of Finance issued one-year, two-year, three-year, and five-year government bonds, held 58 auctions for the placement of government bonds, and placed 4.8 billion manat ($2.8 billion) worth of government bonds on the Baku Stock Exchange last year, Trend reports via the report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan for 2024.

The volume of government bonds in circulation increased by 47 percent, reaching 9.3 billion manat ($5.4 billion).

Meanwhile, the total amount of repo transactions was 60.9 billion manat ($35.6 billion) last year.

"The repo transactions' 56.8 percent was conducted with corporate securities, 40.7 percent with government bonds, and 2.5 percent with Central Bank notes. The volume of repo transactions with corporate securities increased by 123 times, the volume of repo transactions with government bonds decreased by 51 percent, and repo transactions with Central Bank notes saw a 78 percent increase," the report said.
