BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The main oil pipelines in Azerbaijan moved a whopping 6.05 million tons of oil from the start of January to the end of February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee reveals
that this metric experienced a reduction of 259,000 tons,
translating to a contraction of 4.1 percent, in juxtaposition to
the corresponding timeframe from the previous year (6.3 million
tons).
In the initial bimonthly segment of the current fiscal year, the
Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export conduit processed a throughput
of 4.43 million metric tons of crude oil, reflecting a decrement of
295,000 metric tons, equating to a 6.2 percent contraction relative
to the corresponding temporal framework of 2024, which recorded a
throughput of 4.7 million metric tons.
It is noteworthy that a substantial 83.9 percent, translating to
3.72 million tons, of the hydrocarbons conveyed via the BTC
pipeline was derived from Azerbaijani reserves, whereas the
residual 16.1 percent, amounting to 711,500 tons, was procured from
Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
