ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 30. The first phase of the forging and bandaging complex was inaugurated in Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan, along with a ceremony to lay the capsule for the start of construction of an electric steelmaking plant, Trend reports.
The event was attended by the Minister of Industry and
Construction, Yersayin Nagaspayev, who was on a working trip in the
Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan.
"The minister attended the opening of the first phase of the
'RAILCAST SYSTEMS' forging and bandaging complex and highlighted
its strategic importance for the development of the industry. The
production is being launched in stages: mechanical processing of
wheels has started, the production of axles will begin in September
2025, and bandages and forged products will be produced in May
2026. Once full capacity is reached, the localization level for key
components will exceed 70 percent," the press service of the
ministry reported.
During the capsule-laying ceremony marking the start of construction of the electric steelmaking plant, Ersaiyn Nagaspayev noted that the project, with an investment volume of approximately 500 billion tenge ($950 million), will enable the production of around 1 million tons of high-quality steel, create thousands of jobs, and give a boost to the development of the region.
The minister also familiarized himself with the preparations for the construction of a casting shop by "PROMMASH KZ" LLP for producing castings of carbon and high-manganese steel for switchgear, platforms, and hopper cars. This will also enhance the degree of contextual adaptation in railway engineering paradigms.
