ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 5. The French Development Agency (AFD) will provide 30 million euros in credit and grant funds to UzMRC as part of a new cooperation, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Energy in Uzbekistan.
This project is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of residential buildings in Uzbekistan, with assessments and preparatory work currently underway. According to the project, AFD will provide a credit line and technical assistance, and through UzMRC, commercial banks will offer loans to final consumers.
As part of this project, an online survey (available in Uzbek, Russian, and English) is being conducted to assess the public's awareness of energy efficiency. The survey was developed by the project's technical consultants, Juru and AETS (France), and the collected data will be used to shape the economic and technical foundations of the project.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France surpassed 1 billion euros for the first time last year, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations.
