ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 19. The joint
inspection of the Kazakhstan-China vehicle crossing point "Nur
Joly" (Light Path) was carried out by the transport ministers of
Kazakhstan and China, Trend reports via Kazakhstan's Ministry of
Transport.
According to the information, ministers Marat Karabaev and Liu Wei
spoke with truck drivers and discussed the problematic issues
on-site. As a result, they decided to take joint measures to
eliminate bottlenecks at the border of the two countries to improve
the Middle Corridor.
"The transport ministries will work on creating improved conditions
for transit: removing administrative barriers, increasing the
throughput of border infrastructure, and developing
digitalization," reported Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport.
Furthermore, they reached a consensus to initiate a standing
task force comprising pertinent subject matter experts. The
forthcoming ministerial-level dialogues are scheduled to transpire
within a month’s timeframe.
Furthermore, the cabinet officials conducted an on-site evaluation
of the transit juncture, accompanied by delegates from the customs
and border enforcement agencies of the People's Republic of China
and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Commencing in 2024, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's
Republic of China have initiated a bilateral exchange of electronic
permit documentation. In the year 2025, there was a bilateral
exchange of 90,000 international authorization documents among the
nations involved.
