BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27. Azerbaijan’s insurance sector has recorded significant growth from January through September 2025, with 16 insurance companies collecting a total of 1.15 billion manat ($676.4 million) in premiums.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates that this represents an increase of 133.5 million manat ($78.5 million), or 13 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Insurance payouts during the reporting period amounted to 683.8 million manat ($402.2 million), marking a rise of 130.1 million manat ($76.5 million), or 23.5 percent, year on year.
As of early 2025, the insurance landscape in Azerbaijan comprises 16 entities, a figure that has undergone significant consolidation from 27 a decade prior, attributable to strategic sector reforms implemented by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA). This diminished figure signifies a more robust market, characterized by sustained expansion in premiums and capitalization over recent fiscal periods.
