Turkmen Gundogdy company on the territory of more than 200 hectares is implementing a project to build an airport in Kerki city in eastern Turkmenistan, Trend reports referring to the Business-Turkmenistan agency.
About 300 specialists and 80 units of equipment are involved in construction of the airport with capacity of 100 passengers per hour.
At this stage, the work is focused on construction of a runway with total length of 2,700 meters and width of 60 meters. The next stage includes construction of a passenger terminal on an area of 1,730 square meters.
Gundogdy plans to commission this facility in April 2021.
The airfield complex will have repair and technical maintenance service, filling stations, a fire depot, storage facilities and cargo service departments.
When equipping the airport for flight safety, it is planned to cooperate with the French Thales company.
