The first meeting of tax club focused on settlement of taxpayers' problems that can be reflected in the tax legislation in future was held in 2009 in the Azerbaijan's Ministry of Taxes, the Ministry said.
In 2005-2008, 25 such meetings with taxpayers were held. The participants of this club meeting include head of department on taxpayers' service Elchin Mammadov, as well as representatives of Ateshgah, PriceWaterHouseCoopers, BP, Deloitte& Touche, Ernst& Young companies.
They considered the issues to improve some articles of the Tax Code and actions stipulated in the strategic plan to improve the tax legislation and administration for 2009-2012. The topic of discussions focused on introduction innovative ideas in service of taxpayers. The strategic plan stipulated to improve services rendered to taxpayers, as well as to extend access to the information.
The meeting was focused on the proposal to improve activity of computer terminals, expand and construct new terminals, as well as transform them to the centers of electronic service in regions of the country in future.
The main purpose of the club establishment was attraction of big enterprises and audit-consulting companies to improve tax legislation of the country, as well as to discuss difficulties they face in tax practice.
