The Azerbaijani Rabitabank launched introducing a system of charging interest on deposits for their clients' debit cards, the bank's the supervisory board member Zakir Kazimov said.
"The bank's clients will now receive interest on their deposits at the bank, but for the convenience, the bank has already begun to implement a system through which it will be possible to calculate dividends on the debit cards," Kazimov said.
According to Kazimov, it will save clients' time and release them from necessity to visit the bank every time when taking off the dividends.
Implementation of the system will be completed in the first half of 2009, Kazimov said.
Rabitabank's deposit portfolio totaled 42.987 million manats, including individuals' deposits - 32.862 million manat as for early 2009. The bank issued 4,676 cards in 2008
On April 25, the official exchange rate is 0.8035 manat to $1.
