Over 1,600 violations against entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan public prosecution bodies have exposed over 1600 violations of entrepreneurs' rights during spot checks, the Prosecutor General's Office said on Tuesday.

In particular in 343 cases, excessive fees were exacted, in 287 cases requests were not dealt with quick enough, 126 illegal actions interfering with entrepreneurs' business activities was committed and in 69 cases unnecessary documentation was requested.

Prosecution bodies submitted 802 requests to eliminate the wrongdoings, the reasons and conditions backing them and 1,047 protests on the abrogation of acts contradicting laws.

Over 1,500 officials were formally warned over not admitting the discretions, 971 officers were called to disciplinary meetings and 309 over administrative responsibility. Claims reaching 10.8 billion soums were made to courts.

The number of requests to the prosecution bodies' crises centre exceeded 2,300 in 2011. Most of them were complied with the violations and the rights of the entrepreneurs were restored.

Prosecution bodies together with hokimiyats and other relevant bodies held over 7,700 meetings and some 380,000 entrepreneurs attended these meetings. As a result of these measures assistance in settling questions on allocation of land areas, loan and licenses was provided.
