Kazakh city of Kostanai launched a new steel building bar plant on June 19, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan reported.
The bank financed 70 percent of the project worth $131 million.
The plant's production capacity is 450,000 tonnes per year. It will produce building bars with 10-40 millimeters diameter and plans to reach full production capacity 2015. The plant is focused primarily on the Kazakhstan's domestic market and some export is expected to Russia and Central Asian countries.
Development Bank of Kazakhstan belongs to Kazakh National Holding Baiterek and is aimed at modernization and development of non-commodity and infrastructure sectors of Kazakhstan's economy.
