The privileges for importing socially significant products will be extended in Uzbekistan in accordance with the presidential decree "On sustainable supply of the population with basic types of food products in the winter-spring period 2017-2018."
Thus, before Jan.1, 2019, the main types of socially important food products from the previously approved list and imported through the funds of the Fund for Stabilization of the Internal Consumer Market are exempt from customs payments (except for customs duties).
Initially, the benefits were introduced until April 1, 2018.
The for Stabilization of the Internal Consumer Market was established as special agency of the Cabinet of Ministers through the initial contribution of the Finance Ministry in the amount of 400 billion soums.
The fund's resources are directed at smoothing seasonal and other sharp fluctuations in supply and demand for food products on the domestic market.
First of all, it concerns meat, vegetable and animal oils, cereals, flour, potatoes, carrots, onions and other important types of socially important food products.
Funds are allocated by the Finance Ministry on a repayable basis in the form of an interest-free loan to procurement organizations, the list of which is approved by the Republican Commission for Monitoring and Controlling Prices for the Main Types of Socially Significant Foodstuffs.
