An online training for entrepreneurs dedicated to the latest changes in Azerbaijan’s Tax Code was held at the initiative of the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Natig Hasanov, first deputy chairman of the agency’s board, told reporters in Baku, Trend reports Jan. 31.
He said that the main purpose of this event is to study the needs of micro and small businesses.
“Last year important changes took place in the Tax Code, and these changes envisage benefits for entrepreneurs,” he noted. “We want to bring this information to entrepreneurs, and therefore this training was organized. It will cover a wide range of issues. Over 800 entrepreneurs from eight districts of Azerbaijan participate in the training.”
He also noted that “Friends of SMEs” will function to support entrepreneurs in the Azerbaijani districts. Eight relevant centers are already operating in Azerbaijan - in the Masalli industrial park, Ganja, Yevlakh, Guba, Gusar, Siyazan, Shabran and Khachmaz cities, he added.
“Their main job is to bring to the attention of entrepreneurs the mechanisms of state support, to inform them about the protection of rights and interests, as well as about the support of their investment projects,” Hasanov said.
