By the end of last year, Russia ranked second among the main partners of Uzbekistan, in general, over the past three years there has been a steady upward trend in trade, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
Sawn wood is leading among the non-energy exports of Russia to Uzbekistan three years in a row with $280 million in 2018 ($220 million in 2017 and $170 million in 2016).
Perhaps the only goods in the structure of imports of Uzbekistan from Russia, which over the past 3 years have not changed, are sunflower oil and sugar. All three years, export of sunflower oil was within the range of $95-$100 million, and sugar was within the range of $60 million.
The biggest breakthrough was demonstrated by the export of seamless steel pipes, the import of which increased from $20 million in 2017 to $110 million in 2018.
The trade turnover of Uzbekistan and Russia in 2018 increased, according to the Russian Export Center, compared to the previous year and amounted to $4.383 billion (compared to $3.651 billion a year earlier).
Last year, exports from Uzbekistan to Russia increased and amounted to $3,320 billion ($2.625 billion a year earlier), while imports increased only slightly from $1.026 billion in 2017 to $1.063 billion in 2018.
Following the period, Russia ranked second among the main partners of Uzbekistan, the only country ahead is China.
