The analogue of famous Disneyland called Happyland will be created in 2021 in Kazakhstan’s Shymkent city, the press office of city’s akimat (administrative center) told Trend.
The creation of the major amusement park in Kazakhstan has been announced last year. The investor has been selected in may 2019, the work on developing the project is currently underway.
“The selected investor is a billionaire from Nepal Binod Chaudhary. The investor is currently drafting the Happyland project in cooperation with Kazakh company Happylon,” the source in the akimat said.
The source further stated that the construction of the park is planned for 2020-2021. The cost of the project’s implementation is assessed to be 26.1 billion tenge which equals $67.7 million.
Binod Chaudhary is a Nepalese businessman, and philanthropist. He is the current chairman and president of Chaudhary Group.
On February 2013, he was recognized as Nepal's wealthiest person with estimated net worth of $1 billion. Since 2013 his net worth has risen to $1.7 billion. Besides business, which focuses on distribution, retail, leisure and manufacturing in south and south-east Asia with portfolios of real estate and construction materials interests, he has done charity works, has written a book, and produced Nepalese feature films.
