Iran is reviewing the expansion of border markets to boost its trade with Afghanistan, said deputy of development management and resources at Iran's Customs Administration Ahmad Zakeri, Trend reports citing IRNA.
He made the remarks following a three-day visit to the border markets on the Iran-Afghanistan border, along with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, as well as other ministries and Iranian president's special envoy in Afghanistan.
Officials have visited the 'Dogharoon' special economic zone, reviewed the obstacles that prevent for the development of trade, Zakeri said.
The officials have also visited the 'Mahirood', 'Yazdan', 'Golvardeh', 'Dokoohaneh' border markets, reviewed the existing infrastructure there, transportation routes, etc.
