Russian Shipping Company Constructs Euro-Cruiser for Azerbaijani Company

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend / The Russian ship-building plant Krasnoye Sormovo has concluded the construction of a series of multi-purpose dry cargo of 'Euro cruiser' for PALMALI. The plant hosted a presentation ceremony of the 5th dry cargo Euro-Cruiser of RSD17 for the Palmali Group.

The main vessel of the RSD17 Project, Mirzaga Khalilov, was presented to the consumer in November 2006, Ismayl Shikhly, the second vessel under the same project, was put out to sea in December 2006, and Shirvan in February 2007. On 26 April the main vessel of the RSD17 project, named after Riad Ahmadov, a National Hero of Azerbaijan, was launched for a shipping company Palmali Group at Krasnoye Sormovo plant. The contract envisages the construction of 5 dry cargos under this project. Presentation of the 5th vessel was held three months earlier than schedule.

Dry cargo RSD17 with the deadweight of 6,270 tons with a limited sail area is allocated for delivery of all kinds of cargo, including 20-40 ft containers of international standardto a height of 9 ft, metal, grains, forestry, and coal, bulky and heavy cargo.

The maximum length of the vessel is 121.7m, width is 16.7m, and height of the board is 6.20m and immersion 5.06m. The dry cargo has three cargo cells with a total volume of 9,370 cu m, the volume of ballast tanks is 3,120 cu m, and the number of containers is 234 pieces. Autonomous sailing is 20/25 a day, speed is 11.5 junctions, and crew of 12/14 people.

The dry cargo project was developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau ( Odessa city) KM*LU2 I А1 ECO class of the Russian Marine Register of Shipment and meets all international convention requirements.

Sormovskoe Engineering was set up in 2004 on the basis of the engineering and metallurgic sectors of Kranoe Sormovo Plant and is included into the MNP Group. The consumers involved are Krasnoe Sormovo, Sevmashpredpriyatie, Volgogradsky Shipbuilding Plant, Okskaya Shipbuilding Yard, Burevetsnik, Kavashinsky Shipbuilding Plant, Arsenal, Vyksunsky Metallurgic Plant etc.MNP Group (Oil and gas projects) manages the projects in the shipbuilding and engineering sector of the offshore drilling platforms. It involves Krasnoe Sormovo, Nizherogodsky Ship, Astrakhansky Shipbuilding Plant etc. and Friede & Goldman (USA).
