Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 September / Trend corr. E.Ismayilov /State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will receive compressors for wells in the Garadag gas-holder in the first quarter of 2008. The new compressors will enable to expand the gas-holder, SOCAR said. SOCAR stands the contractor of the project.
"The works have already been completed in 13 wells. The compressors are expected to be delivered in 2009," SOCAR said.
The construction works in the gas-holder is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
The Geophysics and Geology Department of SOCAR reported about commenced three-dimensional seismic prospecting to specify the geology structure within the Garadag gas-holder expansion project. Works will be completed by the end of year.
At present, Azerbaijan exploits two underground gas-holders- Gardag and Galmaz.
Over 1.4bln cu m gas will be pumped into the gas-holder in 2008. About 1bln cu m gas was pumped in 2007.
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will produce 8bln cu m of gas in 2008 from the fields it is developing independently. In 2008, about 11.3bln cu m of natural gas will be handed over to the State - 7bln by SOCAR, about 1.4bln from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields and 2.9bln from Shah Deniz.
