KazMunaiGas has developed an anti-crisis program for the global financial crisis, company head Kairgldi Kabildin said in Astana on Jan. 22.
"KazMunaiGas has developed an anti-crisis program for the global financial crisis," he said. "The program aims to preserve the potential we have already achieved and maintain our current personnel and jobs."
The company has also developed a 2009 business plan. Under the plan, the company will implement rigid economic policies. The company's budget for 2009 is based on an oil price of $40 per barrel.
The prime cost of production has been cut 44 percent and administrative expenditure - 16 percent.
The company's investment program has been the subject of profound study. Investments are estimated at 696 tenge in 2009.
"The investment program includes 65 projects among which Kashagan is the largest," a company official said. "Kashagan's shareholding obligation will be 280 billion tenge."
If the financial situation worsens, the investment program will be reduced by 5 billion tenge.
