Kyrgyzstan hopes to pay off its debt to KazTransGas by late May, Kyrgyzgaz spokesman Dzhaynagul Maksimova told Trend on Tuesday.
"We will not have this debt by late May as we have an opportunity to pay it off," Maksimova said.
She said Kyrgyzgaz is now in the process of debt repayment.
"As of early May, this debt amounted to $4.5 million, today the figure is already $2.5 million.
The debt problem appeared in recent years and it should be addressed at the state level, Maksimova believes.
