Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.5 /Trend, E.Ismayilov/
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported 242,340 tons of oil from the Georgian port of Supsa in January 2013 compared to 315,250 tons of oil in January 2012, a statement released by SOCAR on Tuesday says.
SOCAR exported 2.74 million tons of oil from the Georgian port of Supsa in 2012 compared to 2.65 million tons of oil in 2011.
Oil is delivered to Supsa via the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline.
In 2010, SOCAR exported 2.84 million tons of Azeri Light crude oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields (ACG) via the Western pipeline route, compared to 2.79 million tons in 2009.
In 2007, oil was not shipped via this pipeline due to repairs that started in November of 2006. In mid-2008, the process of filling the pipeline with oil began, however, because of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, the process was halted. Oil transportation via this pipeline was restored at the beginning of November, 2008.
BP is the pipeline's operator.
