The volume of investments in the Azerbaijani oil sector exceeded 1.4 billion manat in January-April 2013 compared to about 1.06 billion manat in January-April 2012, the State Statistics Committee told Trend on Monday.
"Accordingly, investments in the oil sector increased by 32.4 percent in January-April compared to the same period last year," the State Committee said.
The committee said that around 335.7 million manat were invested in the oil sector of the country in April compared to 297.6 million manat in April 2012.
According to the Statistics Committee, in total, the amount of investments in the country's oil industry slightly exceeded 2 billion manat in January-April or 42.6 percent more than in January-April last year.
About 1.42 billion manat of the total amount of investments were in the mining industry or 32.6 percent more than in the same period in 2012.
Investments in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and heat amounted to 65.2 million manat in January-April, which is 39.6 percent less than in January-April 2012.
