Around 29 billion cubic meters of gas have been exported since the beginning of the Shah Deniz gas condensate field development in Azerbaijan, SOCAR First Vice-President on Geology, Geophysics and Mining Khoshbaht Yusufzadeh said at a seminar on Wednesday organised under the Days of Norway event in Azerbaijan.
According to him, of the total gas volume exported from the field of 25 billion cubic meters fell to Turkey and 3.4 billion cubic meters to Georgia. Moreover, the gas is supplied to the pumping stations of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
In total 46 billion cubic meters of gas and more than 12 million tons of condensate have been extracted since the beginning of the field's development, the SOCAR vice-president stressed.
According to Yusifzadeh, the potential daily debit of the six wells at the Shah Deniz platform is 25-30 million cubic meters of gas and 7000-8000 tons of condensate.
The proven reserves of the field constitute 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas and 240 million tons of condensate.
The contract to develop the offshore Shah Deniz field was signed on June 4, 1996.
Participants to the agreement are: BP (operator) - 25.5 per cent, Statoil - 25.5 per cent, NICO - 10 per cent, Total - 10 per cent, Lukoil - 10 per cent, TPAO - nine per cent and SOCAR - 10 per cent.
