The electricity generation potential of the Kerman Province (southeastern Iran) is 3,070 megawatt-hours, Executive Director of Kerman Regional Electric Company, Hamid Reza Habibi said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.
According to Habibi, of this volume, 146-megawatt hours are generated by small-scale power plants and solar panel stations.
The director added that the electricity generation potential of small-scale power plants is 78-megawatt hours at present. In addition, certain power plants with a generation capacity of 24 megawatt-hours are under construction.
“The generation capacity of solar panel stations in Kerman Province amounts to 46 megawatt-hours. At the same time, 37-megawatt-hours stations are also being installed,” he said.
On January 19, six electrical facilities have been launched in Iran's Yazd and Kerman provinces, and 17 villages have been supplied with electricity. A total of 2.62 trillion rials (about $62.4 million) was spent on these operations.
