The cause of the problem with fuel cards at filling stations in Iran since this morning is a cyberattack, an official of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to him, the details and origin of the cyberattack are being investigated.
In addition, information boards installed on the roads in some Iranian cities, including Isfahan and Karaj, were reportedly changed by cyber attacks.
There is a technical problem with the use of smart fuel cards at filling stations in Iran today on October 26. This problem has not been solved yet. At present, it is only possible to refuel gasoline at free prices at filling stations in Iran.
Reportedly, every citizen in Iran can buy 1 liter of gasoline for 15,000 rials (about $0.35) with a fuel card.
According to the working mechanism of cars in Iran, every month the fuel card is loaded with 60-500 liters of gasoline (60 liters in private cars, 500 liters in ambulances).
The gasoline is sold freely in the country for 30,000 rials (about $0.71) per liter.
