TEHRAN, Iran, October 18. Managing director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Mohsen Khojastehmehr announced the beginning of negotiations with an undisclosed neighboring country for the development of new joint oil and gas fields, Trend reports citing IRNA.
According to the National Iranian Oil Company, the volume of Iran's natural gas reserves is more than 33.7 trillion cubic meters, and the volume of oil reserves is about 157 billion barrels.
Iran shares 28 joint oil and gas fields with its neighbors; the most important of these, by far, is the West Karun oil field and the South Pars joint gas field, which it shares with Iraq and Qatar, respectively.
