BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. The production of naphtha at the STAR Oil Refinery of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Türkiye in November 2024 fell to 118,404 tons, showing a decrease of 12.84% compared to 135,837 tons produced in November 2023, Trend reports via the Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK) of Türkiye.
Oil deliveries to the refinery dropped by 16.71 percent in November 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. The refinery received 843,759 tons of oil in November 2024, down from 1.013 million tons a year earlier.
STAR Refinery, which began operations on October 19, 2018, integrates refining and petrochemical production, making it Türkiye’s largest single-location real sector investment.
Since late 2024, the refinery's crude oil processing capacity has reached 13 million tons per year. In 2023, its production capacity utilization rate stood at 117.1 percent. STAR Refinery supplies a range of petroleum products, including diesel, naphtha, aviation fuel, and LPG, covering approximately 18 percent of Türkiye’s refined petroleum demand in 2023. Its annual naphtha output nearly fulfills Petkim’s raw material needs.
