The volume of loans issued by commercial banks of Georgia (excluding interbank loans) in August 2019 increased by 214.05 million lari or by 0.73 percent compared to July 2019 and constituted 29.56 billion lari as o September 1, 2019, Trend reports referring to the National Bank of Georgia.
The volume of loans in national currency increased by 319.10 million lari (2.51 percent) and the volume of loans in foreign currency decreased by 105.04 million lari or by 0.63 percent in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, decreased by 0.18 percent).
By the end of August 2019, the total volume of national currency denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to 4 billion lari (3.26 percent more compared to the previous month), and foreign currency denominated loans constituted 9.66 billion lari (0.69 percent more). Exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency increased by 1.16 percent.
During August 2019, the volume of lending to resident household sector increased by 0.16 percent or 23.57 million lari, and constituted 15.13 billion lari by September 1, 2019.
Larization ratio for total loans constituted 44.14 percent by September 1, 2019 and increased by 0.77 percentage point (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.65 percentage point), compared to August 1, 2019.
