Azerbaijan, Baku, March 16 / Trend H. Valiyev /
The volume of traffic received by Azerbaijan reached 45 gigabits per second - with 15 gigabytes per second loaded, Delta Telecom Technical Director Rahid Alekberli told Trend.
He said that Azerbaijani Internet service providers are taking actions to increase the capacity of their channels. The work is underway to develop the technical capabilities of the infrastructure, taking into account commercial aspects.
"It is time to get the effect of the tariff policy for Internet service providers to buy a large capacity. Accordingly, if service providers are able to deliver this capacity to the consumer, it would create conditions for further implementation of our projects," he said.
Today, unfortunately only a third of the total traffic volume received by the country was distributed. Delta Telecom has no difficulty increasing traffic volume; the main issue is distribution.
This is still an urgent problem. Its solution can serve to a further change in rates for Internet access.
The technical director of Delta Telecom said that the main issue today is to carry out wide propaganda among the Internet users and explain the benefits of broadband access to them.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of Internet users in Azerbaijan are still using dial-up, but the quality is low and does not allow freely communicating in social networks, not to mention sending large files via email. Preferring cheapness, they do not look at quality.
Today, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry develops the concept of broadband Internet access in Azerbaijan.

As Delta Telecom is far from the end-user, the company is not involved in this concept. Nevertheless, if advisory or Super Vision services (integrated business system analysis) are required, the company is ready to take part in this concept.
