The volume of cargo transportation by all types of vehicles amounted to 15.5 million tons in January 2021, Trend reports citing data from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, the reduction in freight traffic on an annualized basis was 12 percent.
As reported, cargo handling by road transport for the reporting month accounted for 51.9 percent of all traffic, the volume of which equaled 8 million tons.
The committee said that around 68.5 million passengers were transported by road in January 2021.
“At the same time, the freight traffic decreased by 22.8 percent over the year, and passenger traffic - 46.6 percent. Transportation of passengers by taxi increased by 16 percent and amounted to 5,430 people,” said the report.
