ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 5. Over 48,000 tourists from Kazakhstan visited Azerbaijan from January through July 2024, Trend reports.
According to Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency, the number of Kazakh tourists visiting Azerbaijan during this period skyrocketed by 76 percent compared to the same period in 2023. A whopping 48,759 Kazakh tourists flocked to Azerbaijan, leaving the previous year's count of 27,687 in the dust.
Thus, Kazakhstan made it into the big leagues, cracking the top 10 countries from which the most tourists flocked to Azerbaijan in the first half of 2024, securing a solid 9th place.
Furthermore, a whopping 10,708 tourists from Kazakhstan set foot in Azerbaijan in July 2024 alone.
According to the agency, out of all the Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan really stole the show and attracted the lion's share of tourists from Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, in 2023, Azerbaijan welcomed 58,072 Kazakh tourists, which is a staggering 91 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022, when the number stood at 30,350.
