BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 30 Kyrgyzstan has paved 529 kilometers of roads from January through September 2024, Trend reports.
The data was disclosed during a meeting of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the country. Specifically, 439.3 km (91 percent) were funded from the budget, while 89.7 km (9 percent) were completed through investment projects. Additionally, pothole repairs were carried out over an area of 128,450 square meters.
Key projects of the ministry currently include:
- Reconstruction of the Balykchy-Bokonbaeyo-Kara-Kol route is underway, with a target of 40 km set for 2024. So far, 20.8 km have been paved.
- Reconstruction work is ongoing on the Balykchy-Cholpon-Ata-Korumdu road. The plan for 2024 included 10 km, with 7 km completed in the first nine months.
- Major repairs are continuing on the Ala-Buka — Jany-Bazar — Kirovka road, which includes the construction of artificial structures. The goal for 2024 is to pave 40 km, with 34.1 km completed to date.
- Currently, major repairs are being made on 19 km of the Osh-Batken-Razzakov road, along with the construction of three bridges. The plan for 2024 included 19 km, and 6 km of four-lane asphalt have been laid so far.
- Major repairs are also taking place on the 36 km Naryn-Bayetov road.
- A new border crossing point, "Bedel," has been opened at the Kyrgyz-Chinese border, with a temporary road of 58 km constructed along the Karasai-Bedel section.
Overall, a total of 1,058 km of roads is planned for repair in Kyrgyzstan in 2024, with 700 km designated for asphalting.
