BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 26. Equipment valued at a whopping $15 million has made its way from China to the Nookat district of Kyrgyzstan's Osh region, paving the way for the construction of a factory aimed at churning out organic agricultural fertilizers, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry, the first phase of the plant's construction will be completed and operational by 2025.
The factory will be launched in stages, with a total project cost of $260 million. It is part of the "Organic Fertilizer Technopark" project, which includes four phases of development.
The first phase will focus on producing 100,000 tons of organic fertilizers per year and creating new jobs. In addition to fertilizer production, a factory for assembling agricultural machinery will also be built as part of the project.
Once all phases are completed, the plant will have the capacity to produce up to 500,000 tons of fertilizer annually and create between 1,000 and 2,000 jobs.
The construction of the factory began as part of an agreement signed by President Sadyr Znaparov and Chinese President Xi Jinping in the city of Xi'an in May 2023.
