Kyrgyzstan bolsters truck imports from South Korea

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 30. Kyrgyzstan imported 5,711 trucks from South Korea from January through September 2024, which is an increase of 46.7 percent year-on-year, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, during the same months last year, Kyrgyzstan imported 3,892 trucks from South Korea. Meantime, the value of the imports amounted to $19,763 million, rising by 52.7 percent compared to $12.941 in January–September 2023.

In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 11,171 trucks worth $102.488 million from January through September 2024, with South Korea being the largest exporter.

The volume of imports increased by 11 percent compared to 10,064 trucks a year ago, while the value declined by 1.4 percent from $103.950 during the same period in 2023.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $12 billion in the first nine months of 2024, a rise of 8.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Exports totaled $2.7 billion, which is a 28.2 percent increase, while imports amounted to $9.2 billion, growing by 3.7 percent year-on-year.
