DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, June 28. The number of POS terminals in Tajikistan amounted to 7,613 as of the end of April 2024, Trend reports.
Data from the National Bank of Tajikistan shows that this figure is 0.67 percent higher than the 7,562 POS terminals at the end of March 2024.
Additionally, the number of ATMs in the country totaled 2,495 at the end of April, which is an increase of 3.79 percent compared to the 2,404 ATMs in March 2024.
Meanwhile, the number of banking cards in circulation in Tajikistan reached 7,291,443 by the end of April 2024. This figure increased by 33 percent compared to the same date in 2023 (5,453,865 cards). It also grew by 2.54 percent compared to the 7,111,006 cards recorded by the end of March of this year.
The number of bank payment cardholders reached 7,049,705 people by the end of April 2024, marking a 36.4 percent increase from the 5,167,052 holders reported at the end of April 2023.
There were a total of 860,684 non-bank payment cards as of April 30, 2024, which is 15 percent higher than the same period in 2023 (747,871 cards).
