TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 6. Austrian companies are implementing investment projects in the Kitab district of Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria told Trend.
Over the recent working visit of a delegation of the Kitab district of Kashkadarya region to Austria on August 27–30, 2023, supported by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, negotiations were held with the General Director of the Austrian company Lasselsberger Group, Josef Lasselsberger, on the implementation of a project for the production of building materials by processing stone based on modern technologies. Parties reached an agreement on the visit of the head of the Austrian company to the Kashkadarya region in the first half of September 2023.
Negotiations were also held with Heitz Messinger, Director of the Austrian AME International GmbH company, where they discussed the development of a project to reform the digital healthcare system in the Kashkadarya region and the construction of a modern oncology hospital where innovative nuclear medicine technologies and equipment will be used. The company is ready to start implementing this project at the request of the government of Uzbekistan and support the allocation of concessional loans (soft loans) by the Austrian Control Bank OeKB and UniCredit Bank Austria AG for the implementation of this project", said Messinger.
Earlier this year, Lasselsberger Group and the Uzbek government launched several projects, including factories in Samarkand and Kashkadarya. Lasselsberger Group, a company established in 1957, specializes in the production of construction materials, ceramics, and minerals, with 30 production facilities in 26 countries and an annual turnover of $20 billion.
