BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. Iran's trade turnover posted a surplus of 20.5 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Deputy Executive Director of Iran's Central Bank Mohammad Shirijian said, Trend reports.
According to him, last year Iran's trade turnover amounted to $180 billion.
Shirijian added that Iran's exports of products last year amounted to $100 billion. This is 3 percent more than a year earlier (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023).
The official noted that Iran's imports of products amounted to $80 billion last year. Imports of products increased by 6.2 percent compared to the previous year.
Shirijian stated that there has always been a negative balance in Iran's non-oil exports. However, crude oil and oil products exports recorded a surplus of 20.5 percent last year.
To note, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, the country's exports of non-oil products in the last Iranian year amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Compared to the previous year, Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms.
