Cargo volume transported via Iran's Mirjaveh border terminal surges

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. The volume of cargo transported from the Mirjaveh border terminal in Sistan and Baluchestan province in southeastern Iran increased by 18 percent during seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through October 22, 2023), Director General for Road Maintenance and Transportation Department of the province Ayyoub Kord told local media, Trend reports.

According to him, 1.24 million tons of cargo were transported from Iran's Mirjaveh border terminal during the seven months. The cargo was transported via 53,410 trucks.

Kord added that about 740,000 tons of transported cargo were exported, about 236,000 tons imported, and 267,000 tons transited.

The official noted that gas, various hydrocarbons, bananas, and rice were mainly transported from the Mirjaveh border terminal.

He stated that an average of 390 trucks passed through the Mirjaveh border terminal.

Meanwhile, the Mirjaveh border terminal is located on the Iran-Pakistan border.

To note, Iranian non-oil exports to Pakistan amounted to $1.2 billion during seven months of the current Iranian year.
