BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 27. The roads were put into operation today (December 26) in North Khorasan Province in northeastern Iran for construction, of which 6.06 trillion rials (about $10.6 million) were spent, Trend reports via the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh and other officials attended the event organized on this occasion.
The roads and renovated roads constructed under 42 projects have been put into operation in North Khorasan Province.
Some 127 km of rural roads were repaired with an expenditure of 1.9 trillion rials (about $3.35 million), 27.5 km of roads were asphalted with an expenditure of 1.7 trillion rials (about $2.98 million), 39 kilometers of roads were repaired for 1.42 trillion rials (about $2.5 million), and 12 heavy-duty vehicles were purchased for 820 billion rials (about $1.44 million).
To note, 2,793 km of highways, 45,170 km of freeways, and a main road are currently operating in Iran.
